Premier “Central Zone” for Waterfowl Hunting

Fins Furs Feathers specializes in offering guided waterfowl hunts throughout the early, regular, and late seasons. Our dedicated team provides guided experiences for goose, duck, snow goose, and speckle belly hunts from September to April. We are privately located in the Prairie Pothole Region nestled between the Central and Mississippi flyways on the western tip of Minnesota. Our hunts are in a premier location over a private lake pond and acreage. Commonly we will use our pit blinds for our water hunts and our layout blinds in the cornfield. Additionally, our private lake and pond are consistently being monitored for optimum depths, promoting food growth, and nesting areas for great cover.

We conduct thorough scouting to ensure our clients have the optimal conditions for a successful hunt every day. Although predicting the exact behavior of geese and ducks is challenging, our team of professional waterfowl guides is well-equipped to handle various scenarios, providing a prepared and enjoyable experience for our clients.

A typical goose hunt begins an hour before shooting time at a designated location. Hunters follow the guides to our private lake, pond, or to one of our select fields, where we proceed to set up full body decoys.

Guides primarily will nestle you into one of our several 6 person pit blinds located over the lake. The pit blinds are chest high when standing and a great way to stay comfortable while sitting in chairs but be ready to take aim! We recommend you come prepared to cook breakfast and coffee on our 8 ft heaters! Pits are a great way to hide from the birds, keep warm, eat and hang out with your hunting buddies.

During the entire season, we change locations throughout the different sloughs, potholes, lakes, and blinds. Our guides provide consistent techniques and decoy spreads along with the migrating birds to ensure the best hunting experience.
